Meet Azure from Azure’s Revenge Book 3 of the Dark Web Series

August 3, 2023 by Angie Leave a Comment

Azure is a villain you just can’t seem to hate. Her actions in Azure’s Revenge, which is Book 3 of the Dark Web series nearly work, putting the entire world at risk of annihilation by unleashing a virus that makes Covid seem tame by comparison (although this book was written long before the emergence of this virus). Her history and struggles make her a very sympathetic and haunted person so we almost root for her to succeed, except for the devastation that would result from her success.

More about Azure’s Revenge

Azure’s Revenge continues the story that began with Buried Ladies. Follow the link to see the trailer created for this book to get a feel for the characters of the book without giving too much away. You can read all the books in the Dark Web series in any order because you don’t need to know much from earlier books to enjoy the later ones.

All the books, including the soon-to-be-released fifth book, Danger on Your Doorstep, feature the FBI characters we got to know throughout the series led by Jacob Gross (in book one his name is Jamie and you need to read that book to see why he was forced to change his name) and John Boyd. Jacob is a tech wizard specializing in scanning the dark web for terror threats and hacking into almost anywhere he needs to get information. Boyd is the head of the unit that includes Jacobs’s cyberterrorism unit and a counterterrorism unit of kick-ass agents who face death to keep us secure.

Writing the Dark Web series

My characters keep me writing the Dark Web series. The characters seem to speak to me as I’m writing and I feel like I simply write the words they want to say to the reader. Some I think you’ll find lovable, some will make you cry, and some you’ll hate. I don’t think many characters that fill the pages are flat, except maybe a few bit players. I love to care about what happens to characters in the books I read and I bet you do too. The worst thing is when something bad happens to a character and I don’t care.

Getting back to Azure, I think her tragic past will tear at your heartstrings and you can almost forgive her behavior because she lived such a tragic life prior to her decision to use terror as a way to get back at everyone, not just the people she feels wronged her. Other characters in Azure’s Revenge make you want to cry. I cried as I was writing the scenes with them. For instance, the hospital scene with the little boy is so sad you can almost imagine his pain.

I hope you enjoy Azure’s Revenge and the entire Dark Web series. If you do, please consider dropping a review on Amazon. These reviews really help encourage others to read my work and keep me going.

Her fate

Not to give anything away, but her fate isn’t so good. In the end, justice prevails and the FBI foils her evil plot, as must happen in all good thrillers (I wish real life was as just). But, not before one of the counterterrorism agents is hit (learn his fate in Book 4, The Grid).
